Many of us suffer from the winter skin blues no matter what coast we are on! Follow this advice and you are sure to have healthier, happier skin during the coming months. The first tip I would suggest is getting some advice from a skin care specialist about your type of skin and how you can improve on your current skin care regimen. A steadfast tip to remember is that you are going to need to moisturize more then you would in warmer months. So integrate a slightly thicker day cream in the mornings to get your skin ready for the chilly weather outside. Also, adding a thicker, richer night cream is a great way to give your skin the moisture and hydration it needs. Look for night creams that are on the botanical side of things, with concentrated vitamin C which supports collagen and helps repair skin to restore a youthful, hydrated appearance. Stay away from all products that contain mineral oil since it acts like plastic wrap on your skin, not letting it do the necessary functions like take in oxygen and release toxins. Also don’t put away the sunscreen in the winter months. It is equally important to continue the use of sunscreen because with direct and indirect (ie: reflection off snow) sunlight you can still be at risk of unhealthy sun exposure. One of my last tips is to integrate a hydrating mask into your regimen 3 to 4 times a week. Using this hype of mask will restore and revitalize dehydrated skin. Look for a mask that is more on the natural side with sunflower seed oil, which makes the external layers of the skin softer and more pliable, by increasing its hydration by reducing evaporation. The mask should also have St. John’s wort in it which promotes skin health and reduces inflammation. Another great tip is to use a humidifier in different rooms in your home which will increase moisture levels in the air and be a significant help to keeping your skin supple. Last but not least, make sure you are drinking more water during these months to keep the skin hydrated and looking more youthful!!!
Here are the products I suggest for these needs!! Arbonne RE9 Night Creme, FC5 Hydration and Deep Cleansing Mask & Damage Control Water-Resistant Suncreen
It is that time of year again where we all turn our attention to fall trends and what new goodies we can add to our “little black” makeup bag!! This season the trends are all about contradictions, which makes playing with makeup a lot more fun. We saw on the runways everything from a natural nude lip, taupe eye shadow and the “no-makeup” makeup look to pops of color on lips and smoky eyes in all different shades. So how do we update our makeup bag with such a wide variety of options??? Here is what I suggest…. keep it natural and simple with a few products to add when you are really feeling the Glam! Take your lead from the runways of Versace and Alexander Wang, get a foundation that perfectly matches your skin tone and complexion, and slip in neutral eye shadows like taupe, browns, pale grays and soft metallic. Volumizing mascara is a must! Apply the first light coat to the top and bottom lashes, and then follow up with two more on the top to make your eyes really stand out. (Don’t forget to curl them first!!) Find your favorite coral blush and apply it just to the apples of your cheeks for a soft pop of color and a great lip stain that just adds a hint of color to the lips. The last two staples that cannot be forgotten is a colorful shadow. Pick a color eye shadow that compliments your eye color. For example, if you have green eye get a beautiful deep plum or raspberry and work that into your smoky eye for an on trend, modern look that will for sure get noticed. Lastly, I love to have a matte blood red lip stick or stain, like we saw Gucci do for that perfect final touch to make a statement at all of those holiday parties this season!! Happy Fall!!

On a lovely day in Beverly Hills Britt and I did an editorial for Variety Magazine!! She was promoting her new hit television show The Secret Circle. This editorial I just love, she is a little reminiscent of Bridgette Bardot!! FUN!!
My beautiful client Shailene Woodley from ABC’s The Secret Life of an American Teenager, working her red carpet flare!! We wanted to go for a natural, effortless look. So we started with a light coverage foundation, like Arbonne’s Tinted Moisturizer and a dusting of translucent powder. A touch of cream blush by Stila in Rose and Gerbera, finish it off with Laura Mercier’s lip stain in Peach Glaze!!
My client Blake Anderson from VH1′s hit television comedy show, Workaholics’!! We did an editorial for Bust magazine recently and it turned out so fun. I always have a blast working with Blake and the rest of the guys!!
